Maybe I learned something this week, maybe I didn't but I am out of my creative rut. I sat down this week and focused on learning some jazz improv technics. I found a very fitting website that had Youtube videos embedded and spent a lot of time skimming some of the articles. In all honesty I was more into just messing around.
I spent about 2 hours on Sunday night playing around with the Jazz accompaniment options on my piano. Originally, I had set out to just use a metronome to practice swinging notes. I would be a massive hypocrite to the students I tell 20 bajillion times a week to use a metronome if I didn't once in a while. But I got into it, and just had a fun time making up songs and melodies.
I have compiled some of my favorite's and made a little playlist of what I have played lately.
The upload process to Spotify is surprisingly easy. So, if there is anyone else there looking to share their music with the world, here are the steps:
Get the Spotify app
Open the settings of your app
Turn on local files upload
Your songs should show up under a playlist titled Local Files
Add your songs to a designated playlist that you want people to be able to find.
Bada-Bing Bada-Boom. It is quite simple.
I hope my jazz escapades this week have proved fruitful. I am going to looking into better ways to record cleaner audio in the coming weeks, but I do hope you enjoy a rather easy listening playlist. (Norwood Ave 2 is my current fav)
Also, shoot me name ideas because I have none.
Hi Sarah,
I have not been checking up on your blog and now I am sad. It seems I have missed so much in your learning and how you are doing with piano. But congratulations on your progress so far. I will continue to read your upcoming posts as I love listening to piano and would just love to hear the progress you make!

Hey, Sarah! This is my first post of yours that I've read and I am so happy to hear that you're learning some piano techniques! I for one have always wanted to learn piano but never really had the finger dexterity for it. However, I always knew that I love the sound of jazz on piano and I am glad that you love it too! I think most of my love for it comes from "La La Land" but I still love it all the same
